I have been testing EEVEE Next with the beta version of Blender 4.2 and I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed by the results. It feels much closer to Cycles because of the new and shiny ‘Global Illumination’ functionality.

These are two scenes I have made utilising the GI functionality of Eevee Next:
The Templars Tomb: This was featured in blender’s official developers blog as well under the article ‘EEVEE Next Generation in Blender 4.2 LTS‘ at https://code.blender.org/

The Wooden Shack
In this, I used my favourite vegetation addon Botaniq and my own realtime cloth simulation library to make the scene more dynamic.

Inspiration of the Week:
Elder Scrolls Online Cinematic: This is one of my favourite sequences where the Knight fights all 3 warriors. The attention to detail in this is phenomenal.
My Experience:
While working in 3D, I have found 3 things that have helped me the most in staying focued on the task:
1. A Timer
2. IGI Soundtrack
3. Putting away my phone
